Dijkman history

The progenitor Hans Barend Dijkman, born in Brunter (Brundersen) in the County of Lippe, Germany around 1714. (Here is his burgher's registration document) by profession: dry shearer, shaving cloth while dry..

His name was probably Diekmann (or Deichmann), which has been Dutchified. Marriage registration was on October 27, 1741, in Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam. He married widow Grietje Ootmarink.
The orphanage was settled, meaning there were minor children. Her father's name was Hendrik Ootmarijns.
When he died on March 28, 1759 (only 45 years old), he lived outside the front gate on the city canal. This would now be Nassaukade near Bloemgracht.
He is buried in the Noorderkerkhof in the Jordaan district of Amsterdam. She was also buried in the Noorderkerkhof on February 11, 1769, with deckhouse and bier (luxury).
